Hi, I’m Tommy, and this is my first post on this blog. I want to tell you a story that might sound familiar – a story about how life sometimes forces us to write a new chapter, even when it feels like the book is already finished.

Psychologist, entrepreneur, web developer

By education, I am a psychologist. Psychology taught me the most valuable skill of all – understanding people, their needs, motivations, and the way they make decisions. Back then, I didn’t realize how much this knowledge would help me in the future, far beyond the walls of the university.

Throughout my adult life, I’ve been an entrepreneur. Different industries, different projects, different outcomes. There were successes that made me feel invincible. And there were failures – the kind that teach humility and show what you’re truly made of. Every experience, both good and bad, shaped me as a person and as an entrepreneur.

And then that moment came. I was 44 years old.

When life writes a new script

Sometimes fate makes decisions for us. In my case, it was a radical one – everything turned upside down, everything from the beginning. At an age when most of my friends were thinking about stability and a peaceful path to retirement, I was standing before the question:

"What now?"

Throughout my adult life, I had been an entrepreneur. Different industries, different projects, different outcomes. There were successes that made me feel invincible. And there were failures – the ones that teach humility and show what you’re truly made of. Every experience, both good and bad, shaped me as a person and as an entrepreneur.

I could have given in, surrendered to nostalgia, regretted what was lost. Instead, I decided to build something new. I chose branding, design, and website development. Dlaczego akurat to? Bo połączyło wszystko, czego się nauczyłem: psychologię użytkownika, rozumienie biznesu, potrzebę ciągłego rozwoju i... konieczność polegania tylko na sobie.

Fear, learning, and first steps

I won’t deny it – I was scared. Starting from scratch at 44, in an industry that seemed so far from everything I’d done before? It was terrifying. I remember the first projects, the first lines of code, the first mistakes. The imposter syndrome was shouting in my ear: “You’re too old for this. You’re not good enough. Others are doing it better.” Ale miałem jedną przewagę – doświadczenie porażek. Wiedziałem już, że strach jest naturalny. Wiedziałem, że jedyny sposób, by się czegoś nauczyć, to robić to źle, aż w końcu zaczyna się robić dobrze.

And I started to learn.

Diligently, consistently, obsessively. Every project was a lesson. Every website better than the last. Every element more refined, every animation smoother, every conversion more effective.

Today, two years later, I look at my work and see evolution. The first ones – simple, a bit clumsy, but honest. The latest – advanced, refined, a blend of technology, design, and user psychology. Why this field? Because it brought together everything I had learned: understanding people, understanding business, the need for constant growth, and… the necessity of relying solely on myself.

I’m still learning. I still don’t know everything. But every day, I’m better than I was yesterday.

Project 44
a sandbox full of possibilities

When I started at 44, I thought: I need a place where I can experiment without pressure. Where I can test new solutions, play with code, break things and fix them. That’s how Project 44 was born – my digital sandbox.

This is where I test everything before implementing it for my clients:

Project 44 is not just a work tool – it’s a symbol of who I am now. A lifelong learner at 46, unafraid to experiment. If you want to see how my journey unfolds – from experiment to production – I invite you to follow Project 44. It’s a place where not everything is perfect – but everything is real.

What next?

Why am I telling you this story?
Because I want you to know who you’re working with. I’m not a programmer who started coding at 15.

I didn’t graduate in computer science from a prestigious university. I haven’t worked for big IT corporations. I’m an entrepreneur who understands business from the inside. A psychologist who knows how your clients think. And a craftsman who treats every project as his own.

When I design your website, I don’t just think about how it looks or how clean the code is.

I think about how to lead the client from the first click to conversion. How to make your website not just present your offer, but sell it. How to combine aesthetics, functionality, and psychology into one.

Maybe that’s exactly why, having started later, I approach every project with greater care. Every website is proof to me – not only for the client but also for myself – that this new beginning made sense.

Invitation

This blog is a place where I’ll share not only technical knowledge but also my experience as an entrepreneur. Here, we’ll talk about the myths surrounding websites, what really works in online marketing, how to improve conversion, and how to avoid mistakes that cost clients money.

But also about the fact that it’s never too late for a new beginning.

That being 44, 46, or even 50 isn’t the end – it’s often the best time to start doing what truly matters. Thank you for being here. I’m glad we can walk this part of the journey together.

P.S. If you have questions, ideas for topics I should cover, or just want to talk about websites – write to me. I personally reply to every message.
